Monica Lewinsky joins Twitter, promptly draws thousands of followers
The
woman best known for a stained blue dress and an affair with President
Clinton that led to only the second impeachment of a sitting president
is now on Twitter.
Monica Lewinsky announced her arrival on the social media network with a tweet the simply said "#HereWeGo." She followed that up with a tweet about an hour later previewing her appearance at the Forbes Under 30 Summit. "excited (and nervous) to speak to #Under30Summit," she tweeted.
Within a couple of hours of launching her account, Lewinsky had already topped 10,000 followers.
In her Twitter bio, Lewinksy described herself as "social activist. public speaker. contributor to vanity fair. knitter of things without sleeves." Perhaps she should add "hater of capital letters."
Lewinsky had an affair with President Clinton while serving as a White House intern during in the mid-1990s, leading to Clinton's impeachment in 1998. He was acquitted on the charges in the Senate.
