United Airline narrowly escaped crashing today

United Airlines Averts Serious Problems in Santa Barbara Despite System Issues

Morning commuters do have delays, but overall, for most passengers, the day was relatively smooth

SANTA BARBARA AIRPORT DELAYS

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara Airport faced a computer issue at the United Airlines terminal much like the rest of the country when a "glitch" caused serious problems.
It lasted about an hour but the ripple effect did delay small commuter jets, and connecting flights.
By mid day passengers were told there would be some limited delays but for most it was workable.  One said it was "not going to ruin my day."
United said it resolved the problems, and had updates on its website about the flight delays and any other issues linked to the passenger flight plans.
One passenger said her friends were the first to tell her about the problem through "facebook."   She said, "United took its sweet time."

A check of the United Airlines twitter account shows notices about the computer issues shortly after the problems was detected.
Karen Fahey from Santa Rosa was showing off her front row Aerosmith pictures from last night's concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl during her delay of about an hour.  It was a high flying rock 'n roll show although her morning plans were grounded.
