Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Pierce has a minor fracture in his right hand and will miss two to four weeks, the team announced Monday.
The non-displaced fracture of the third metacarpal came during the first half of the team's loss Friday to the Houston Rockets. It was another blow to a team that has the league's highest payroll at $102 million and trying to mesh in the early part of the season.

Deron Williams (sprained left ankle) hasn't played since Nov. 20, Andrei Kirilenko (injured back) has played in just four games, Brook Lopez just returned to the lineup after missing seven games with a sprained ankle and Jason Terry is out with a knee injury. The Nets are 5-12 but only 1½ games out of first place in the lowly Atlantic Division.
A 10-time NBA All-Star with the Boston Celtics, Pierce is averaging 12.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game in his first season with the Nets.
